Israeli forces continue to carry out airstrikes and military operations across the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire. A recent Israeli strike in Gaza City killed at least five Palestinians, including four women.

Large parts of Gaza remain devastated, while reconstruction has made little progress and humanitarian conditions continue to affect civilians. Continued Israeli military operations are adding to the insecurity faced by Palestinians already living with displacement, destroyed infrastructure and restricted access to essential services.

The continuation of attacks despite a ceasefire raises further questions over whether the current political process can provide meaningful protection for Gaza's civilian population or bring an effective end to the conflict.
